Taiwan has 139 new confirmed cases of COVID-19

Taipei, March 24 (Xinhua) — A total of 139 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Taiwan on Thursday, including 15 local cases and 124 imported cases, the regional epidemic command center said. The number of imported cases hit a single-day record this year.The command center said six males and nine females, aged from their teens to their 80s, were among the new local cases, including two from a wedding party in Chiayi and 13 from a chemical plant in Kaohsiung.Among the new imported cases, 59 were males and 65 were females aged between less than 5 years old and over 60 years old, with the largest number coming from Vietnam.According to the command center, there have been 22,327 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Taiwan so far, of which 15,535 are local cases.
